"Can we make it through this act without a tragedy?"

(Procrastinating because I have writer's block like woah and have been stuck at word #6427 of a fic I have promised myself before the end of this month. Frustrating? I think so. I still apologize for the spam.)

Just for curiosities sake, to all you writer's on my flist. (Of any sort, by the way, fic or fiction. Poetry or prose. Private or public.)

How do you name the stories/pieces you write?

For me it usually comes down to song lyrics. I am kind of obsessed with finding an anthem to even the shortest pieces of prose I write. (I am rubbish at poetry and jealous of those who are good at it!) Of the 60 (!!!) fics I have posted this year 38 of them have been directly based off of lyrics from songs that I listened to while writing them, and the other 22 are... well. I honestly have no idea where I came up with the other ones.

Follow up question: does the title of a fic have any real affect on whether or not you will read a fic?

I realized recently realized that titles do, in fact, have a huge effect. There are certain writers I would read even if they titled all of their fics "Cook and Archie do... something.", as I trust them and know they will rock my world. But on the rare occasion I get to adventure in fandom lately I will gloss over a lot of fics and then stop on the ones which have titles that pop out to me.

Consider this a meme of sorts! Two questions from me, but you can ask any question you want and I hope everyone would take a moment to reply to all the questions. (I am sure you guys will have much more interesting replies than me, I am kind of lame. ;))

ETA: If you just read, I am still totally interested in hearing your thoughts. So, the first question might not apply but the second is totally open to any and all. I am just interested into how it differs from person to person.:)
