Out in the cold again

It seems IF we have plans to go out at night, then the weather changes and turns back into winter again. Wonder why?

Tonight we are going out to meet some of the mate's coworkers. It's a the satellite telecommute workers and significant others holiday party at The Blue Bonnet Mexican Restaurant in Denver. His company is actually in Potomac Maryland. Should be a fairly small, about eight people, casual and mellow evening, aside from perhaps having to battle some cold winds and maybe a little snow.

Last Friday we went out to dinner downtown, then to the art museum. A friend's band was performing there at the museum's monthly music/art event. It was cool to be out and about. I felt like such an urban sophisticate, after we parked and walked around. The Parade of Lights was going on at the same time though, which did make for some traffic buildup at first. Once we were parked (we also got there early) all was well.

We don't have any of our holiday preparations going on yet. No shopping, except for some holiday cards and no decorated tree up yet. In general though I try to make holiday shopping as easy and stress-free as possible with none or only one brief mall visit.

I hate malls! They are disorienting, overwhelming and tend to make me nauseous. I pick stores out of malls, and on the internet. I may even visit a craft show this weekend too. I've also been known to bake cookies as gifts too. Yummy!
