Lessons in Love
They’re all staring at her.
She should feel ... what? Angry? Embarrassed? What is the appropriate emotion for this situation?
“There’s not going to be any wedding.”
She can feel them looking at her as she walks back down the aisle, but it barely registers. He was the one who knew her, saw her. And now he doesn’t want her. Maybe he doesn’t even love her.
Maybe he never did.
She thought he’d taught her a lesson about love. Turns out, she learned the real lesson long ago. Love is hurt. And sadness.
She finally gets love now.
She really does.
