American Idol
First of all, I just have to say...Slash! Slash gave them no useful advice at all, but still - Slash!
Okay, my thoughts:
-Adam does Led Zep, and manages to pull it off. Did we have any doubts? No, no we did not. Loved the eyeliner, too. ;-) Now it just remains to be seen whether he'll make it to the finals or become another Chris Daughtry (who is playing on the show tomorrow night - I hope that's not an omen). Either way, he'll be fine.
-Allison singing Janis was kind of a no-brainer, and she's right that Piece of My Heart is overdone on these kind of shows, so I didn't mind that she chose Cry Baby. Not my favorite of hers, but she rocked it.
-I thought Kris was much, much better than any of the judges did. He always adds his own style to any song, which is not easy to do on a song like Come Together. I hope he sticks around, but somehow I doubt it.
-Now, I am a big Danny fan, and I have enjoyed all of his performances this season. Up till now. Danny, my friend, there is only one person on this show who should attempt to sing Steven Tyler, and that would be Adam. Not you. Dear lord, that was just painful. The whole thing, but particularly the end. Why didn't he sing Joe Cocker or something? But I think Simon's right - he seems pretty untouchable right now.
-The duets - Again unlike the judges, I thought Kris was better than Danny. Allison and Adam were great together, no surprise there. Adam was cute, calling her his little sister. And his hair girl did an awesome job on Allison's 'do. ;-)
My feeling is that either Kris or Allison will go, but you never know - surprises do happen.
