Summary: Luke thinks he's figured something out

Yes, I have written soap opera fic. :-)

Noah is trying his best to study for his midterm, but it's awfully hard to concentrate when Luke is in the room. Not that Luke is trying to distract him - he's merely sitting there at the dining room table, doing research on his laptop. It's just that Noah would much rather be studying his boyfriend than History of Film Theory. Slowly, he lowers his book to sneak a peek, and finds Luke staring back, a smirk on his face, looking like the cat who caught the canary.

"What?"

Luke shakes his head. "Nothing," he says, using his most innocent voice. He turns back to his laptop, sucking absently on the end of his pencil. God.

Noah shuts his book and puts it aside. "Luke, what?"

There's that smirk again. Noah wants to kiss it right off his face.

"It's nothing. Really. I was just thinking about why you had this sudden change of heart about living together, and I’m pretty sure I’ve figured it out.”

“Oh really?

“Yeah. I mean, it‘s pretty obvious. But see, I just didn't realize you were such a..." Luke looks over his shoulder to make sure his parents haven't come into the room, but Noah can still hear them banging pots and pans around and laughing together in the kitchen. "...sex fiend," Luke says, under his breath.

"Excuse me?"

"Oh, I think you heard me."

Noah can feel his face heating up. He clears his throat. "And what makes you think that?"

Luke shuts his laptop and gets up from the table, sauntering towards Noah with all that newly regained confidence that Noah finds so admirable. So impressive. So damn sexy. Noah licks his lips.

Luke leans over him, trapping him between his arms. "The only reason you want me to share an apartment with you," Luke says, whispering in his ear, "is so that you can have sex with me any time you want. Any way you want. For as long as you want." His lips brush the shell of Noah's ear, making him whimper. Noah turns his head, trying to capture Luke's lips in a kiss, but just before they touch Luke is abruptly, frustratingly, gone, and Noah finds himself kissing nothing but air. Luke flings himself down on the sofa next to Noah, laughing, and crosses his arms over his chest. "You just want me available whenever the mood strikes you," he says, using that low, gravelly tone that seems to vibrate right through Noah’s body. Then he hits him with the dimples. "Which is pretty much all the time. Isn't it?" Tease.

Noah takes a breath. "And you...have a problem with this?" he asks, approximating the innocent tone that Luke is so good at. Which is really fucking difficult to do when he's this turned on. Luke knows all - well nearly all - of Noah's buttons, and he's pressed a good number of them in the space of five minutes. Not fair. Not fair at all.

"No!" Luke laughs. "I'm just surprised you're admitting it so easily."

"Well," Noah says shifting to face Luke, "it's one reason. It’s not the only reason."

"Oh, do tell," Luke says, putting his feet up on the coffee table.

Noah leans into Luke's side, his mouth close to his ear. "I do want to fuck your brains out on a regular basis without worrying about being interrupted," he says, and Luke shivers as Noah nuzzles his nose against his cheek. "But I also want to find out which side of the bed you like, and how many times you hit the snooze button in the morning. Do you sleep on your side or your stomach or your back? Do you steal the covers? Do you talk in your sleep? And I want to fall asleep in your arms, all warm and cozy in our very own bed and wake up the same way, because my day is always going to be better if it begins with kissing you."

"Jesus, Noah." Luke is all shining eyes and soft mouth and he grabs the back of Noah's head and - finally, finally - kisses him breathless.

Noah smiles to himself. It turns out he knows how to push a few of Luke's buttons, too. And he doesn't feel even a little bit bad about it, because he meant every word.
