My New Year

Jan 02, 2005 19:26

I never make New Year's Resolutions, but as everyone else has posted theirs, I figured I'd make an effort to make some up. So if I was the type to make resolutions, this would be them (not a definitive list):
= To join the gym and actually GO. Need to get fit enough to at least have a chance at passing the army fitness exams.
= To make an effort to drink my protein shakes every day in order to build up more (see above).
= To try and put more of an effort into my uni work, and try to attend more lessons.
= To make an effort to be more of a true buddhist, rather than a part time one.
= To cut down on my swearing.
= To watch all the dvds I've spent hundreds of pounds on, then never watched or even unwrapped. Ditto for CDs.
= To pay my rent.
= To wear a clean shirt to work every day. Or at least attempt to iron a dirty one.
= To buy my own shit instead of mooching off other people - toilet paper, milk, weed, cheese and orange juice being the main culprits.

New Year's Eve was really cool. I was exhausted though, as I'd been out the day before with some people from work who were too much for me! They were proper hardcore drinkers, and I couldn't keep up. It was a true pub crawl - one drink then move to the next bar. i had to switch to drinking spirits and mixers, as bottles took too long to drink and I always had to leave them unfinished!
Funniest thing ever happened when we were sitting at a table in the window of Boulevard. Some girl walked past and I went "Holy shit, how short is her skirt??!!"
Then the entire table replied in unison: "Not as short as yours!!"
They were all referring to the ultra mini I wore to work on xmas eve. It was so funny!
They all drank so much I ran out of cash, and one of the lads had to buy my drinks for me. I owe him shitloads in return now, especially as 2 doubles in Annabels cost £10, which is absolutely disgusting!
One by one people started disappearing, and I found out they were going home as they had to be at work early the next morning (New Years Eve). I did too, so I borrowed money for pizza then made my exit.
Started work 9am, then finished at 6. There are only 4 of us in my hall at the minute as no1 else is back from home yet. Tanya and KP went to a party in Newcastle, and me and Fred went to Wetherspoons then Privilege (after I had a couple of hours sleep!).
Privilege was really cool. I stayed in the R & B room, while Fred wandered all over the place. It was really funny looking thru the doors into the charv room, cos youre listening to R&B, but all you can see in the next room is a load of strobe lights, and people waving their arms in the air! You just think 'theyre not dancing to the same song I'm dancing to!'
Dared Fred to pull a minger! Said I'd give him a fiver if he did. We picked someone really rank - a midget who was totally off her face. And when I say midget, I don't mean short, I mean Munchkin, Oompa Loompa, Willow...
We finally changed the deal to a fiver if he could get her name and number, so he went over to start laying his mack down. He came back and said the midget told him her friend liked him, so then he decided that he actually liked the friend! He was too shy to go back over though, so I went over and sorted it out, and they spent the rest of the night together. They're actually out on a date right now!
I had worse luck, I was approached by an oddjob of people all wanting to dance with me: a bunch of random black and asian guys, and every refugee in Sunderland. They were all minging!! The only fit people who wanted me were two hot girls!!

Woke up the next day with the traditional stack of happy new year text messages from people I haven't spoken to for ages.
New Years Day was terrible. Worked a 12-close. The only people closing were the people who started at 12.00! Any need?! We were all exhausted, and it was really crap cos the people coming in later in the night were totally out of their trees, and it was really bad craic.
Matt rolled a joint in the toilets during his break, and once we got cleaned up at the end of the night we wrapped up warm and went outside to smoke it. I've never seen anyone so hapy! he'd been going on and on all day about how he couldn't wait for that moment!
Went back in to drink our drinks, then I got a lift home, even though I just live down the street cos it was sooooo cold!!!

Anyway, Happy New Year eveyone xxxxx
