Back Home
I had a wonderful time in New York! It rained the whole day so our jeans, socks, and shoes were all soaked (and our shoes were making that wonderful squishy sound). While that got really icky after hours of it, it was a good thing since it kept all but the die-hard tourists out of the city. The bestest birthday present of all was getting to see ariellen again! Even saying goodbye wasn't as bad as I thought it would be because I just knew I'd see her again!
After that, we headed up to Massachusetts. We spent time in the smaller cities and in Boston. I didn't like Massachusetts as much. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed everything I saw, but it wasn't some place I could ever stay for very long or live. I'm too much of a city girl >.> *lol* and Massachusetts seemed to be very small townish. Remember when flying on a plane was a novelty? I do. I'm so sick of planes I could scream! We flew into 6 airports on 5 planes. On the way there we left and flew to Maryland, changed planes and went to Long Island. On the way back we drove from Lee, Massachusetts to Albany, New York then flew to Chicago, changed planes and flew to Denver. The next day we drove from Denver to Longmont, went to the funeral, drove back to Denver, and then flew back home. Our plane got delayed in Denver due to extreme wind shears at the airport. Instead of leaving at 8:50 pm we didn't leave until 11 pm. Thankfully I slept on most of the trip home but if I had to get on one more plane I think I would have burst into tears.
