Thank you! And, yes! I'm so glad that you appreciated River's moment of self-doubt. I see River as a character being someone who lives with very few absolutes. Even about herself. There are things she'd HOPE to never do, but she understands that nothing is certain. Much like the Doctor. I imagine if the Doctor were in this situation, he'd ask the same thing (I didn't, did I?!), as compared to Rory and even Amy who work off far more certainty about who they are. Maybe the difference comes in the ability to regenerate and change who you are (assuming River is that little girl). *shrug* I'm glad you liked that bit though.

Also, I'm very complimented that you felt there was a little bit of a Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy vibe. I love that book. It's possible that shows in my writing. I do perceive humor (and the ridiculous) in DW to be similar to Hitchhiker's. And I'm glad that you liked that little bit from River. I admit, that's my personal favorite from this story too. :)
