For all you romantics... you know who you are.

He was driving her home after a well-received third date. They had gone to a cozy Italian bistro in the heart of downtown. He was nervous about tonight. He knew he was attracted to her, knew he liked her, knew he wanted to spend hours upon hours learning about her. But he didn’t know if she felt the same. He had a pretty good idea, but still...

As they’re driving, her head rests on his shoulder, his arm wrapped possessively around her body. A song begins on the radio, her hand taps out the rhythm on his chest. She absentmindedly hums along. He turns off the main road into the residential area. The houses are dark, the streets are quiet, no one is around. Suddenly, the sky opens up and snowflakes fall in the gentle flutter. Her breath catches in her throat. He chuckles and stops the car on the curb. Standing under the streetlight, she holds her arms out and lifts her face to the snow, spinning in slow circles. He can tell that she’s never seen snow before, and in the hundreds of times he’s been though it this one is the most magical.

As it snows, everything else goes fuzzy, she’s just focused on the snow itself. Lost in the imagination. Trees are painted white as the leaves are weighed down and pulled by levels of snow. Her breath comes in little clouds, snowflakes sticking to her eyelashes
Snow resting on top of her hair, but she can't feel it, because it's too light to feel, but too mesmerizing for him ignore. Her eyes shining in the streetlamp, the melody drifting through the air the chill nipping at ears but none of that matters... just the moment. She twirls into his arms and he leads them to sit. Two people sitting at a bench, slowly embracing the slow trickle of snow on a quiet night where even the night skies seem bright Letting the world turn around them. Somehow they're just observing, not participating. He feels as if they're extras in a film about Mother Nature.

She sit gazing in amazement...The snow hugs everything it touches. The two hold each other in silence. Knowing that words would only taint the moment. They look into each other's eyes. With snow latching onto their eyes and face like crystal ornaments, the light from their eyes only accentuated by the crystals of water clinging to their face
He knows in that instant that the world has handed him an opportunity. A moment that will not come again. Their lips come together in a kiss amidst a sudden downpour of heavy snow at that exact moment. The contrast of cold from the snow, and heat from the contact shocks the lovers. They're warm in each other's arms feeling a cold drift from the outside snow/

In that moment, the world is right. As they embrace again and again there's nothing that can ruin their happiness. Its as if the snow has fallen just for them. The snow is confetti; a celebration of their love . For a moment hosted by the weather and embraced by nature.
A moment for theirs only.

The snow drapes over everything romantically and helps capture everything about the moment. They know that every detail of the night is burned into their memories. They'll never forget how they felt.

They look into each other's eyes once more. He notices the moon reflecting bright as the clouds part and the skies scream with stars She notices none of it. Just him. She stares at her reflection in his eyes, feeling that she's seeing right to his very soul. And he stares his reflection, feeling that he's connected to her soul in an incredible moment of serenity

Never will that moment be replicated. The innocence and peace can be found nowhere else.

This moment.

Our moment.
