(no subject)
I was informed tonight by my new boss, Andrew, that I will be doing my Approved Managers course on the 4th of May. :D
He told me on Wednesday that he had nominated me, but we only found out tonight who had actually been placed (me, Elsie and Mumsie).
So I guess a little bit of background info is needed.
Last week the new General Manager fired my boss, Kristy. It came as a HUGE surprise, and all the bar girls were shocked. To this day we still don't know WHY it happened either.
That same night, the restaurant supervisor, Lisa, quit also, as she was offered a job up north and moved up there yesterday. I am so sad to see her go as she pretty much became my best friend at work :(
So anyway, the GM appointed a new Food & Beverage Manager to manage both the bar and restaurant, which is now Andrew! He seems pretty nice though, someone we'll probably get along with well.
So yeah. Having completed an Approved Managers course will be an EXCELLENT thing to have on your resume.
I got miffed at work tonight though, when Bizzy chucked the shits after she found out she only had 1 shift next week, and also wasn't chosen to do the AM course. So she pulled Andrew aside and threatened to quit unless she got to do the course, too. So he agreed to let her do it too! I'm like.. how childish is that? threatening to quit unless you get your way? Gosh. Grow up!
So yeah. That's pretty much the quick catch-up on what's been happening at work. *nod*
