I was walking to my night class Monday when I happened upon a studio mate of mine laden down with equipment not typically seen of a 5th year digerati. It seems the fellow is taking a life drawing class and I had to think, what would possess someone to sit in front of total strangers stark naked, even if it is for the sake of art?
So exactly how much is a nude model paid? A quick look on the web finds... well, if finds porn to be quite honest. Maybe a slight alteration in the keywords is in order... Alright, screw the internet.
If I remember correctly from flyers I've seen and my friend's wife, it's somewhere around $10 - $20 an hour to lie around naked while some haughty art students sketch all your nooks and crannies.
I've officially been an art student for 8 years. I've been to a life drawing class or three. I've seen what you've got. I've even had a model fall asleep while 'posing'. Easiest money in the world.
Except, you're naked.
And what blows my mind is that, at least in my experience, the people that sign up for this job are American in every sense of the word. According to one teacher, it makes for a more versatile subject. I think it just makes it so you don't have students asking the subject for their number when they're putting the robe back on.
Do guys think women who model in the buff are easier than the women who choose to keep their clothing on unless persuaded by some form of mind altering substance? Why would I even ask such an obvious question? How about one with a little more challenge.
Where in the hell do you get that sort of confidence?
