I didn't start "feeling the spirit" of Christmas until this very weekend. I don't know if it was the magic of a really entertaining show and a sold-out concert weekend, singing "Deck The Hall" on the 6:30 (AM!!) news, finally sitting down for a few hours to plow through some Christmas cards, or what.
This weekend's concerts were just amazing. This is the first time we've ever sold out an entire weekend before the first note was played, and it's so exciting. It's even better knowing that it's been a turbulent road getting to this point. I'm so grateful to
kybearfuzz for coming on Saturday, treating me to a tummy-asploding dinner and always letting me vent my inner turmoil so it doesn't become my outer turmoil ;) It was also terrific seeing
_decibel_ and
kybigstew on Sunday. A few of my neighbors came, my parents (though on separate nights), two of the sibs, "that boy from Columbus," and a slew of people from my church.
And now I'm a bit panicked about the whole gift thing. I really hope we never have to perform concerts the weekend before Christmas again. I'm sure my family will be happy with gift cards and a hug, but we'll see if I get any more inspiration in the next few days.
Speaking of the next few days, they're going to be slow at work. Thank goodness.
