Concert Weekend

Oct 22, 2007 08:38

It's been a busy couple of weeks getting ready for concerts this weekend. I've got plenty of bitching to do but perhaps I'll just let it go in favor of reflecting on the positive. The performances went very well... better than I'd expected. And I personally performed better than I expected... memorized some very wordy pieces, and sounded pretty nice. I received lots of compliments on my solo so I was quite excited about that. It was also wonderful to see friends in the audience -- it makes a show really special. Thanks go out to kybearfuzz and pmjfb and of course theatrecub79 (we DO miss you!)

Speaking of pmjfb, we had a really nice day on Saturday. Because of scheduling issues, we didn't have a performance Saturday night, so I was able to head up to Dayton for Masquerage, an AIDS fundraiser with a mardi gras theme, and Roy was volunteering as a bartender for the evening. John and I went shopping for a mask and spent some time at the mall, which is so much more enjoyable with someone else. At the event, I drank about twice as much as I intended to, and began the slow progression of screwing up the week's WW progress (should have hit 10% this week and just barely missed it. Again.) But, eh. I had a lot of fun. And went home with a trashcan full of TargetWarez I won in the silent auction. There were Method-brand items I didn't even know existed!

This week looks to be pretty light on activity, but the weekend will bring CMC's cast party on Saturday, followed by the 3rd annual Pumps Party, church on Sunday, and a trek up to Columbus to see Bears On The Run. I can't wait to see my boy bobaloo again!
