The Full Monty
Had a lurrrvely evening with thespisgeoff of dinner and long islands (or is that reversed?) at Union Station, followed by New Stage Collective's production of The Full Monty. I have a few friends from CMC in the show, and Geoff's former tour partner Jen was also a featured performer, but aside from the connections I've really been looking forward to seeing it.
Overall it was a fun, fun show. I felt like I needed more instrumentalists, and the singers were hard to hear at times (though the levels were increased so it's better than it was for previous shows), but it was a decent production. The comedy was done well - we both chuckled through most of the show.
And of course I picked up one of the 18-month charity calendars featuring "tasteful" nude photographs of the performers... including the women... what did you expect?
