First and foremost - congrats to Erik (
need-2-chat) on starting his new life in Michigan. I hope it brings many good things and that you are happy there!
I've been a movie whore and a social butterfly over the last few days. Insanity! But I've been enjoying myself.
Friday brought a fabulous dinner with the gang at Universal Grille (including two long islands that I felt for several hours), overindulgence at Cold Stone (which, sadly, I think I'm going to pass on next time), and Click - which was OK but certainly nothing special. The levee was extremely crowded and I ended up walking a few blocks from the lot by Pompilio's since the garage was full. That made me feel better about the ice cream ;)
I also watched Sky High on DVD on Friday. I forget who recommended it a few months ago -
bobaloo maybe? But whoever it was - THANK YOU - I loved it.
Yesterday I made American Express very happy. A haircut, new clothes, a grill pan and a grater, soap and bath stuff (shut up
stripedtiger and UnderArmour socks (thanks
burnoutfuture) and boxer-briefs (YUM).
Then a super-fun time with a date in Columbus - we did the gallery hop, had dinner at Don Pablo's (what the hell happened to my diet this weekend?) and saw The Devil Wears Prada. I was MUCH more pleased with this movie. I snickered all the way through. The one-liners were the best part - so catty. And Meryl Streep must have had fun with this role - she was brilliant. We stopped for a few drinks at Woof's and saw a bunch of people - well, half the people on my friends list, really. It was a fun evening, and I got back home just before 3:30. Getting too old for that ;)
