My First Gallery Hop

May 08, 2005 09:35

Yesterday after our morning rehearsal, I ran some errands and cleaned the house (ditching the afternoon rehearsal) before driving up to Columbus with kybearfuzz to meet stripedtiger and schnitz_mi for dinner and my first Gallery Hop.

Dan chose The Happy Greek for dinner. Greek is one of those cuisines that, while I like, I rarely eat. My entree (and I SO cannot remember the name) was awesome... sort of like a lasagna, but with a sweetness to it. I will have to agree with kybearfuzz, though, and say the appetizers were the best part. Warm pita slices with dipping stuffs, and a cheese that they splashed with bourban and flambeed, unenthusiastically shouting "Opah!"

The Hop itself is a neat social event. The galleries and shops along High Street stay open until 10ish, and there are a ton of people, many who are family, out along the sidewalks walking from place to place. It would nice to have a regular event like that in Cincinnati. Along the way, we ran into Brock and fuzbears, and picked up dessert on the way back.

The drive home wasn't too bad either.

Now I need to get showered, dressed, go through the newspaper and get ready to meet my family for brunch.
