Work has been stressful lately because we get oversold then people get mad at us.... its not fun. But normally work is great. I really love working with all the people there and their little quirks. I had 2 wonderful visitors last night in the form of Brandt and JEN!!! I met them at SteaknShake for fries and frozen goodness. It was great to see Jen again, its been well, since Christmas break since I had seen her, and then it was only once or twice, so hopefully we'll get to hang out lots before she leaves again in June. During dinner I managed to severely upset Brandt (I'm sorry)- sticky situation. Lesson learned: Communication is good, supposing that someone knows someting doesnt work, and withholding details is as bad as lying. I think we're past it now though. Hopefully. Moving on......
Tanning beds are mucho relaxing! I thought i would feel suffocated in them but with the fan blowing on you and the music playing, its great! I just had a minor mishap though. So my mom bought new tanning lotion for me...the lady said it was what i needed but she was wrong. Apparently its the kind for people who already have a base tan...so long story short, I'm burned....only on my chest and stomach though... very weird. Cuz my butt and legs are starting to get tan. But Mom ordered the good tanning lotion that I first had off of Ebay for really cheap so that should come just in time for my burn to be gone and I will be able to go tanning again. Now, dont think I'm tanning to get a tan and be a prissy girl, cuz I'm totally not. The idea here is for me to get my skin used to it so when I go to Florida in late June, I wont have to worry about getting fried and spending two days in the condo and not on the beach. Seems like a great idea to me. Plus I wont have pasty white ghostly legs, which Brandt ever-so-kindly pointed out the other day.
Speaking of the other day, Brandt and I went to my painting teacher's exhibition opening in Hyde Park at the Health Foundation. She and some other faculty from my school had work up. It was cool, but the crowd was kinda stiff and the food (chocolate covered strawberries and such fine eats) looked amazing and expensive. SIDENOTE:: FOR PEOPLE WHO DONT HAVE MONEY TO EAT, GO TO OPENING RECEPTIONS AT ART GALLERIES- FREE FOOD AND DRINKS GUARANTEED! ITS THE WAY TO GO!. So after I talked to some teachers about me going to Italy, Brandt and I headed to Mt. Adams Bar and Grill for extremely yummy food. It was a fun night and a definite change of pace.
Oh and my decidedly favorite drink is an Amaretto Sour with two cherries. Plain and common, I know, but I keep trying all this new fruity complicated stuff and it just doesnt rate as well. But anyway...
Gotta work 4pm-midnight tonight (aka Shift of Hell!), then I volunteered my services, kind of, to help a guest at the hotel in the morning. He's having some kind of business conference and needed someone to sign people in and hand out registration packets from 730-1130am, so I called him and negotiated, so for $50 and breakfast I am going to get 5 hours of sleep then come back to the hotel to sit at a table and smile. Lol. I think it'll be great. And I love all these little side opportunities for money that the hotel business presents.. Last night a lady paid Paulette $5 for find her a Pepsi in our Coca-cola machine-infested hotel. Fun stuff.
Guess I'll nap then get ready for work. Laters!
