Me, I knew that my primary narrative kinks were worldbuilding and feelings, but I didn't know I would like them even better if they came wrapped in fluffy kink. And tentacles. Now I know!
Here's my format: Title, by author (wordcount rounded to the nearest thousand words, rating according to the AO3). All stories are on the AO3. Additionally, here's a zip of the files of all 69 recs and just my 25 favorites.
Requisition 128-3C: Intent to Initiate Sexual Intimacy, by dee (5k, explicit). A fluffy first time (with tentacles) fic has stunning worldbuilding and hilarious, tumblr-quality levels of cultural sensibility.
The Untimely Disappearance of the Voice of Night Vale, by Margo_Kim (4k, gen). Head Intern Jessica, normally not a go-getter, fills in when Cecil disappears. Pitch-perfect episode format.
Second Date, by dee (3k, mature). Note: kind of dubcon; watch the author’s note. No spoilers from me, but I will say that it’s the best kind of shocky hurt-comfort with worldbuilding that’s become my headcanon.
How I Survived My Summer Vacation, by Tamika Flynn, Age 12 and ¾, by thingswithwings (6k, teen). Truly a transformative work, this fleshes out the Summer Reading Program episode in the best possible way, filled with literary jokes and amazing original characters.
Subject A, by rachel4revenge (4k, explicit). All the weirdest and best Night Vale kinks at the same time, with great characterization and detail.
Perfecting, by thingswithwings (7k, explicit). This may be my favorite WtNV story--I read it and then immediately read it again, which is rare for me. It was written concurrently (sabinelagrande calls it a "simultaneous remix") with Informed Consent, by sabinelagrande (5k, explicit), which I also loved--but I recommend that you read them in that order (Perfecting, then informed Consent). They're both about Cecil the service!top, and each one is wonderful.

all maps welcome, by Siria (3k, gen). Oh god, OLD NAVY. I love how this asks many questions that I have. I also love that in Welcome to Night Vale, "Carlos accepts the strangeness of Night Vale" is its own genre or trope (and this story is an excellent example).
