Dear Yuletide Writer
Hello, Yuletide Writer!
First off, relax, and thank you for participating! I hope my requests make you smile rather than tear your hair out. ;)
As for my likes and dislikes.... I like gen, het, slash, femslash, threesomes, so, uh, pretty much anything goes. My favorite things are banter and sarcasm, and I enjoy watching relationships develop in a story. I'm not really into explicit sex scenes, but feel free to write one if you really, really want to. My only no-nos are non-con, infidelity/adultery, and death fics, which, uh, I don't think anyone would be writing with my prompts, so you're safe, ha. Anyway, here's a bit more about each request!
1. Akachan to Boku - Baby and Me
(Enoki Takuya, Fujii Akihiro, Enoki Harumi, Enoki Minoru)
Although I love everything about this manga, my particular favorite things are the Enoki family slice-of-life moments, and Fujii and Takuya's friendship. If you prefer gen, I'd love an Enoki family outing. But if you're into m/m, I would love to see Fujii and Takuya's friendship turn into something more as they get older. Plus, Harumi's reaction would be amazing.
Baby and Me is one of my comfort reads. Yes, all eighteen volumes. But I love how Takuya and those around him experience character growth over the course of the series, and especially how the Enoki family redefines itself after Yukako's death. I also read Takuya as gay, Fujii as possibly gay/bi-- Takuya shows no interest in girls throughout the series, and Fujii only talks about them and doesn't seem to have a particular girl he likes. Plus, I love their friendship! However, if you do write them getting together, please make them a bit older, like sixteen or so? And, like I said, if m/m isn't your thing, I'd be delighted by a friendship piece.
2. A Chorus Line
(Diana Morales, Paul San Marco, Cassie Ferguson, Larry)
I have so many stories I'd love to see from this musical! How Diana and Paul met and became friends. Cassie's time in Hollywood. I also would enjoy something where Larry used to be a dancer before he injured himself and became Zach's assistant, and so post-musical, he and Paul become friends and maybe develop into something more.
I love this musical, and how it's basically meta-- it's a musical about people auditioning for a musical. It's about performing, the song, the dance, and why people do it-- for love, for understanding, for an outlet. I would love anything you have to write about this musical, pre-musical or post. The characters I selected are my favorites, but if you wanted to do something else, like Connie Wong's career and how looking younger wins her parts, I won't object at all!
3. Young Heroes - Yolen and Harris
(Any)
I would love to see a sort of sequel to /Odysseus in the Serpent Maze/, only with Telemachus, Peisistratus, and Nausicaa going on an adventure instead! (Telemachus/Nausicaa would be a definite bonus.) Or you could write about teenage!Medea. I don't know what kind of adventure she'd have, except that she'd be awesome.
Young Heroes is a YA series where Yolen and Harris take Greek heroes and look at them as teenagers. There are so many possibilities! You could play around with the suggestions, or do something entirely different with another Greek myth. My only big request is no Jason or Theseus stuff-- I hate them.
4. Metropolis (1927)
(Maria, Freder Frederson, Josephat)
I would love something dealing with the aftermath-- Maria being in charge, of course, because she's awesome, and Freder being his earnest, caring self. If you just wrote Maria/Freder, I'd be happy. If you somehow brought Josephat into the relationship and created a stable threesome, that'd be amazing! (Look, Freder saves his life and then takes him home. And Josephat's obviously also in awe of Maria as well.)
I just watched Metropolis for the first time last week, and was simply floored. I didn't expect a silent film to have this depth and such an engaging cast! Josephat and Maria are my favorites, so if you don't want to write Maria/Freder, I'd adore friendship fic for Josephat and Maria, post-movie. There's so much potential for fic here-- how do they rebuild? How do the workers and the scientists finally become partners? Etc.
