a day off, a day off!

I'm not going to work out how long it's been since I last updated. best not to know. Am off work today, a rare occurrence. Are there meant to be two 'r's in that?

For today's fun and excitement, I went out on nice morning walk with housemate Gnome for the purpose of dropping something off (okay a wee sample just to triple check I've not got nowt in the way of diabetes and the like. But all indications are still healthy as a horse. A healthy horse that is.) Carried on down to where Gnm turns off to station because it was a lovely morning (and is now a lovely late afternoon), Came back on beach and saw MASSIVE dead jellyfish. This discouraged me from my vaguely formed plan to go swimming in sea later in day. Besides which, much harder to work out how far am swimming, and unfortunately I am obsessive enough to want to know. Took pic of jellyfish on phone. If I'm feeling applied enough I will have a go at popping a copy in here when done writing.

Then sat around eating dry cereal (nicer that way) and reading Arthur Ransome book (Winter Holiday). Finished book. Great stuff. Waited around for nurse to return my call, got bored, drank coffee with cardamom and cinnamon in it. Had to catch twenty to eleven bus into town so gave up waiting for nurse to ring back. Got off top of hill above Llanbadarn and walked down to leisure centre. Saw kite. Yay. (real kite, i.e. bird, for them that lives in foreign parts.)

Swam 48 lengths which is 3/4 mile. Shawsie showed up when I was at about my 32nd length and frightened heck out of me, since usually Thursdays are the one day he doesn't come, even if I have the day off (Tues and Thurs now being MY DAY for swimming, and woe betide them what slacks off on their swimming day) as he has to pick up youngest kid usually. Not that he did anything or anything, just that suddenly he was there, swimming three times faster than me. And usually I make sure I stay to edges when he is due to be there, but I thought I was safe so was in the next slot over from the middle. Had been in middle but Keith M had shown up and as he is an even better (just) swimmer than Shawsie, I moved over. Fortunately K went just after Shawsie got there, so he could take over the middle. I think the wake the two of them would have created with their turbo-swimming might have been dangerous.

Went round to new Somerfield, which though bigger, and I think nice enough (though I have heard dissenting voices), doesn't appear to have much different stock. Which is fine because they still have the things I like. Bought said food (salsa, low-fat guacamole, tzatziki) and then proceeded to miss 2.05 bus home. Was a bit stressed by this as was pretty hungry by this point (as in shaky muscles, not tummy grumbling.) Then realised as had bought new Pringles, could just picnic in park. Crisps and guacamole and salsa, yum. Have managed to lose 11 pounds in the last 6 weeks or so without giving up steady diet of crisps. Go me. :-) And nurse has looked at blood and said brilliant cholesterol levels, so haha all you nutritionalists. Blood pressure is good, too. Was worried that past year at bookshop with mondo stress levels might have ruined my past good levels, but all is fine. I may just enter my forties with all fine and dandy. Still a year to go though, so never know.

What AM I babbling along about here? Dunno. Oh yay, and friend from NYC (can't remember if I've been using something other than her real name on here or not) is visiting last week of Aug, hurrah.

Dadeeda. Now just mucking about on computer when really I should get up and hoover. But I'm tired now mummy. Or should that just read 'lazy'? Hmmmmm....

Below is attempt to show jelly fish. Probably won't work...
