Home again, home again

So I'm back in Gainesville after a nice long weekend at home for Thanksgiving. I had a nice time seeing my fam, and my grandparents/uncle (maternal side) who had come down as well. Except I caught myself playing anthropologist internally, which was weird and unwanted. But good food; Dad made his stuffing, and as usual it was amazing. UF beat FSU (YAY!), but... they could have done better. Not sure how they'll do against Arkansas next week, guess we'll just have to see.

I saw Stranger Than Fiction Sunday with my mom. Yes my mom. We had a nice time together, and it was a good. Especially Emma Thompson, but that's kinda a given. Dustin Hoffman is so great too.

I'm glad to be back. I've missed friends, and the convenience I'm become accustomed to in the form of dining halls. Like having pineapple juice every morning for breakfast. I am spoiled, aren't I? But it combined with syrup-slathered-on-chocolate chip-waffles are so good!

Classes though...I have a lab practical and an online quiz in bio anthro this week. And a take home test to turn in for Cults, never mind I've had the essay questions for about a month. Next week I have 3 exams (VERY happily NOT cumulative) and a paper due that Monday/Tuesday. I get a breather and then the Tuesday after that I have my one real final. That one I'm really worried about. It's...going to be interesting. Weird having this week be my last week for most of my classes though, feels like the sem just started a few weeks ago.

The only fly in the ointment is leaving "my" car behind again. I miss driving her. Alright, I just miss driving period. Not simply the freedom that comes from not having to wait on a bus, but the driving itself. Going fast, listening to music, driving fast. I'm not really a reckless driver; at least I don't think so, but I like a little thrill you know? Like making those sharp Ueys that create enough Gs to push you into your seat. Nothing like it. Well except roller coasters. Which is why I'm glad I live in Orlando, but that's a topic for another day.
