I wonder if I am ever forgiven by my Classical Archaeology teacher that I first misunderstood the beginning of the next phrase:
"Several marble kouroi dating to the second half of the sixth century are known from the Attic cemeteries, along with one rare example of a kore (maiden), named Phrasikleia."
... ... I first thought of as in "seeing each other" not as in "made somewhere around that time" as I should have reflecting on the fact that the book I am reading is called The Archaeology of Athens.
Too much fangirling, I tell you!!
Oh yeah... Those "kouroi"... they are male terracotta/marble
statues.
