As much as I hate to say this.

I don't care. Call me insensitive, a monster, a freak, whatever. I was reading up recently that some girl committed suicide and, for her suicide note, left the lyrics of Simple Plan's "Welcome to My Life." Before that, a little while ago, some kid left the lyrics of Blink 182's "Adam's Song" as his suicide note. All I can say is, good fucking job, dipshits. You deserved to die. If you're going to take the words of those songs so seriously that you'll take your own life, then man, you were one fucked up teenager and the world's better off without you.

Those songs take it for granted that teen angst is a thing unique to themselves, when clearly, EVERYONE'S GOING THROUGH THE SAME GODDAMN THING. If you're feeling angsty and miserable or something, TALK TO SOMEONE. "Oh, I'm sad. I have a middle-class caucasian suburban life. I think I'll go listen to emo now." WRONG ANSWER. People can reach out to you much better than a mainstream pop band's song ever can.
