Certain words have certain connotations. Trip implies going away by car, plane, or boat. Vacation means getting the hell away from home for a good while. Journey means something physically and mentally trying that offers a great reward. In all cases, the connotations refer to SOMETHING THAT IS ALIVE.
"Today, Ronald Reagan makes his final journey to Washington, D.C."
Journey my ass. This is just lugging a dead guy across America. Maybe it's a trip for the LIVING PEOPLE THAT CARRY HIS BODY, but for God's sake, put Reagan underground and stop saying he's going on a friggin journey. The man needs his rest.
