Holiday in Cambodia?

Hahah, I had to do it! Despite my tacky play-on-words, it’s kind of exciting; I’m waiting to hear back about an internship in Cambodia. I interviewed on Monday with the publisher of the Cambodia Daily, a newspaper out of Phnom Penh. I thought I’d be spending this summer in S. Korea or China, but hey, I’ll take whatever I can get, especially if it means traveling for free! So, the interview went really well and the publisher, Bernard, and I had a lot to talk about. I’m confident in the fact that I did my best in the application/interview process. So, if I don’t get it, I will certainly know what to work on to make myself more competitive in the future. It would be really exciting to work at this paper though; I guess that Bernard is the former bureau-chief in Asia for Newsweek. Many of the stories published in the Daily are picked-up by the AP, the NY Times, etc. So, yup, other than that, things are about the same. I got a raise today at work, so I’m a little less keen on hunting for a new job. I think I’ll be able to stick-it out here at Sociology until summer.

Valentines Day is this Monday and I really don’t know what to get Patrick. I was going to just make him a cute little card and frame a picture of the two of us, since he doesn’t have one. BUT, I was also thinking about buying him a pair of shoes. Is that a weird gift? Should I just stick with the framed photo?
