Just a fair warning, if you want to reverse it it could take as long as several months unless he can tolerate intense magic for several consecutive days.

I am not sure. But we live in a world where the fairytales and reality can mix together thanks to the spin-tellers. Professor Cat was either a human being or a cat until Drosselmeyer wrote him as Professor Cat. Perhaps a cat, because he reacted feline during the curse?
