Amusement

I bought an Emsa Clip & Close to try using for Corwin's lunches at Mother's Day Out. It's a German product, and the instructions with it are in several different languages. Something got a bit lost in the English translation of this instruction: "The containers are not suitable for ovens, grills and stove burners or cooking eyes."

It hadn't quite occurred to me to cook eyes at all. :P I wonder if they mean something like "hot plates" or "Bunsen burners." The spanish translation is no help to me, as it says "placas de cocina" which roughly translates to "kitchen plates." Unless someone who speaks better Spanish than I do can tell me that's an idiom that my gringo self has missed.

Here's the German (missing an umlaut 'cause I am too lazy to figure out the alt-key combo to type it): "Fur Backofen, Grill und Kochfelder sind die Dosen nicht geeignet."

random observations, engrish
