Two Dreams

A friend of mine sent me a link to this etsy shop that sells geeky baby stuff. In particular, she wanted me to see the book, "Pat Schrodinger's Kitty" -- a baby's introduction to theoretical physics. (Yeah, I figure it will amuse several of you reading this as well!) I was amused, but didn't think much more about it and went to bed.

Well, apparently, all that physics stuff got stuck in my brain.

I dreamed I was taking a college class and had a group physics project with a research paper to write. Our project involved taking lots of little balls (ranging in size from the little candy balls use as cake/cupcake decorations up to about marble sized) and rolling them down different sized ramps and measuring how far they went before coming to a stop. (Somehow this was supposed to teach us about inertia, though my rational brain isn't quite sure how.) It was the day before the research paper was due and we had done a couple of our ball-rolling trials but were nowhere near finished with them all. We'd done the literature review for the paper (lots of time spent with databases for me) and written most of it save for our results and analysis sections. So we were in a hurry to finish the rest of our trials...and of course we couldn't find more than one of the balls and ramps. This of course then turned into one of my dreams about looking for things and being unable to find them. While being stressed because I had a deadline, of course.

Oh, in other dream news, I actually had a dream in the last few weeks that was set in the house I live in now (as opposed to my parents' house). Our house was on a college campus, and Andrew, martinhesselius and I were students there. We had Corwin, and I had just given birth to our second son the previous day, in the bathtub in our master bathroom. In the dream, I had gone to the campus bookstore to buy a My Little Pony charm that was somehow going to act as a substitute for the new baby (don't ask -- it made sense while I was dreaming it) and martinhesselius, same age he is now, was the cashier in the bookstore.

After buying the pony charm, I walked back across campus, with baby in arms, to the house. Glas met me on the steps out front (again...no clue how he got from the bookstore to my house faster than I did when I'd left before him) and asked me if I wanted to go see one of several movies with him that night. I replied that as long as we could find someone to babysit Corwin, I supposed I could just hold the new baby in my lap as long as the movie chosen wasn't too scary. Then Andrew walked up and suggested we go to one of a couple different movies or to a concert. I gave him a stare and reminded him that he doesn't like movies. He said, "Well how about the concert then?" I was all like, "I just had a baby YESTERDAY, are you crazy?!" And that's all I remember.

The dream not having my parents' house as my home is WAY new and different. I'm wondering if it has to do with Corwin actually being present in the dream, and him never having been present when I lived in my parents' house. Kinda like my subconscious couldn't place him there, so it finally decided to use my current house as my home.
