Pregnant woman whining
So yesterday I started having these weird twinges in my inner thigh right up at the hip joint. I can't really describe the feeling properly...kind of a "pulling or stretching pain" maybe? It only happened when I was standing or walking (never when I was sitting), and only lasted for a couple of seconds at a time. The pain happened on both the left and right sides, but not usually at the same time, and the pain on the right side was more frequent and more intense. I'm wondering if it is my hip threatening to pop out of socket, or a pinched nerve or something. This happened off and on all day yesterday, with the worst time being as I was walking out of the break room with my lunch...I almost lost my balance and fell over because of it, which is what made me think maybe my hip was trying to pop out of socket. So far I'm doing better today, though that area is still sore and achy.
So random pains, but still nothing that seems like contractions. It's really still too early to be antsy (38w2d), and I'd really like to work through at least March 1 anyway (so I accrue my 10 hours of vacation and 8 hours of sick time for March), but aside from that I'm really ready for my baby to come out.
I'm also swelling more. My engagement ring is hard to get over my knuckle now, though it's not uncomfortable to wear once I get it on. However, it's also no longer loose...it actually stays put as opposed to spinning around all over the place like usual. And I'm in no danger of having it fall off. My feet are swollen, too -- I was noticing last night that they look less veiny than usual, and most of my closed-toe shoes feel too tight. I'm actually contemplating trying to get a pedicure this weekend so I will feel comfortable wearing sandals to work next week if I need to.
Random complaint: Either the speedometer in my car isn't working quite right, or there was a police car speeding in the 20-mph school zone this morning. I was cruising along right at 20-mph according to my speedometer, and the cop just passed me right on by.
In less whiny news, beckyboo83 is coming to visit me this weekend. :)
We've been getting packages, too. We got a third package from e_why earlier this week, and a package from wingsrising yesterday. She sent a handmade baby blanket with a purple and blue fish pattern; it's very soft and nice-looking. :) And this morning one of my coworkers brought me another gift -- a small baby quilt made by his wife.
