The university is closed today
Well, I'm finding myself with an unexpected day off today. According to the web site and my email, the university where I work is closed today due to flooding. On the bright side, the fact that it rained most of the day yesterday and off and on for all of last night, combined with a 6:20 a.m. phone call that we didn't answer, I thought to check before driving off into the muck, fighting my way downtown, and THEN discovering that the university was either closed or I couldn't get to it. On the down side, I didn't check until after I was up, dressed, breakfasted, and generally ready to leave the house. Thus, not much point in trying to go back to bed now. :( Means I need to figure out what I want to do with myself today. :P
Andrew got to feel the baby move last night for the first time. And he (the baby, not Andrew) was doing gymnastics this morning. Or something.
[UPDATE: Ended up falling back asleep anyway, and dozed off and on for around 3 hours; interrupted by a phone call from a headhunter for Andrew who confused me in my half-asleep state because she had the same name as someone I work fairly closely with at another campus in my university system. Every time I'd wake up and decide I should get up, I dozed back off again before I managed to get moving. I guess my body is still happy to have all the sleep it can get these days.]
