Tidbits from my day so far
Bad: I had to get up this morning to to go work. AND I have to work a full 5 days this week (and 'til 6:00 on Friday, to boot). Yes, I know this is a whine, but when the last two weeks have been 3.5- and 3-day weeks respectively, reverting to 5 is a pain!
Good: I made it to work safely this morning.
Bad: I nearly didn't make it to work safely. As I was coming up to the light at Westpark at the Beltway, it turned yellow. It was iffy if I'd be able to make it through before the light turned red, so I elected to stop. As I was hitting the brakes, I glanced in the rearview mirror to see a big white SUV that was obviously not slowing down to stop start to change into the left lane to go around me. I had a thought along the lines of "asshole who wants to run a red light badly enough to go around me to do it." So I stop, and then I hear squealing from the left lane. I glance over there, and there's a green SUV next to me that has also stopped for the light, and the big whilte SUV is coming up behind WAY too fast and now finally trying to stop because there's nowhere for him to go. He's aiming for the space between me and the green SUV, which isn't big enough for him to fit through. He ended up hitting the SUV and taking out it's taillight....but about a foot further and he'd have been in somewhere between my rear passenger and my driver's side door. No telling if I'd have come through that intact, but I'm pretty sure my little car wouldn't have. :(
Good: Today is a coworker's birthday, so there were donuts downstairs. I was finally able to get my fix! (I have been craving donuts for weeks now)
Bad: The donuts weren't fresh -- they had that slightly dry texture that indicates they're probably a day or so old. So I'm still craving donuts.
Good:This weekend, I cleaned the master bathroom thoroughly, and started making progress on cleaning some other parts of the house as well, signed up for childbirth classes in Oct/Nov, and ordered my Evanescence tickets for my birthday.
Bad:I still haven't finished writing up Dragon*Con or posted pictures.
