Got the hell out of Detroit

Feb 01, 2008 13:27

I was supposed to be in Detroit through today, but 11 inches of snow was in the forecast so the branch cancelled their meeting for today and I got to get the hell out of there before they got blasted. I didn't get in until 12:30 last night/this morning, but it was so much better than being stuck in Detroit in a foot of snow. I could go into the all the drama I encountered at the airport just to catch the last flight home, but I did make it home one day early and that's all that really matters.

Alexa is in Houston with her Nana at a clown workshop for kids. For those who don't know my MIL is studying to be a professional clown. She's been obessesed with clowns all her life and now she want to be one. Mostly to volunteer at children's hospitals. It's so her and she does make a cute clown. Anyway, she got Alexa interested - which really surprised me. Alexa's clown name is Coco and as soon as I get pictures, you can bet I'll be posting them. I think it's neat how they're bonding together. I know Alexa will remember this forever.

I was agreeing with kaleidoscopeeye on how annoyed I am with the writer's strike because all my favorite shows are stuck in a holding pattern and I have no shows to look forward to catching up on over the weekends. Instead we're watching about a movie a night from our collection when I'm home. And I started watching Deadwood which I have to say is now on my Top 10 favorite list. I was immediately sucked it. I just finished the first season. It was awesome.

Tonight, I'm meeting the daughter of one of my former co-workers for drinks. She's been dying to come to Austin and her father (my former co-worker) called and asked me if I could meet her, show her around, etc. I think she's a good 10 years younger than me, so I doubt I'll be able to keep up, but it'll be fun to catch up with her and show her some fun spots downtown.

Tomorrow, I'm babysitting Miss Lily. Can't wait!! :)

Sunday is Super Bowl and I'm so not excited about it at all. I think I'm still depressed from the Cowboys royal fuck up. I can't root for the Giants even though they're the underdog, my Cowboy loyalty will just not allow me. So I'm just gonna drink lots of beer and eat good food and hang out with the hubby watching football. Not a bad Sunday actually.

TGIF!!!!
