The Shining
We bought the Stanley Kubrick DVD Collection a couple months back and are just now getting around to watching it.
Today I watched The Shining with Alexa and her friend Haley. I forgot how classically classic this movie is. It was really cool to watch after so long. It's been several years since I've seen it. But when I was Alexa's age, I used to watch it all the time with my friends. I didn't appreciate the acting and direction then as I do now. The kid was pretty incredible. And it's still scary to "kids today" - They were hiding behind blankets and Alexa screamed out a few times - which speaks to Kubrick's ability to make the suspense in his movies timeless. Pretty cool.
Other than that, I was pretty busy today. Lots of running around, so I still haven't gotten to clean my office yet. It's thoroughly embarrassing the state it's in right now. I've got another busy day lined up tomorrow, so I'm sure it'll be put off to the weekend. I'm *thinking* about painting it too. We'll see.
Alexa goes back to Houston tomorrow for a few days which means I get another date with D! Dinner and a movie tomorrow night is in the plans.
Still enjoying my time off. I do read some of the work email coming across my Blackberry every now and then...and get a little stressed, but quickly put it out of my head. I have to tell myself "you're OFF..get over it!"
