One of the things I look forward to about the holidays is sleeping in. However, the past three mornings, I've woken up at 8 or 8:30. I know for many of the newer parents, 8:30am is "sleeping in", but thanks to a very self-reliant daughter who has been making her own breakfast since she was 5, sleeping in for me has been 10:30/11. Last night (or actually very early this morning) I went to bed at 2:30am. Today...still woke up at 8! Maybe I'm experiencing the whole "needing less sleep as you get older thing". It's weird. Just sayin'.
In other ramblings, I've watched a few movies recently that I felt like commenting on because I thought they were entertaining:
Crank - Extremely action-packed, this movie is one big adrenaline rush. Jason Statham is hot, probably because to me, he's the British version of Bruce Willis. ;) He's got the same BW wit, but British-style. It's a fun and fast movie if you like a lot of fight scenes with a sprinkle of T&A.
Hot Rod - I have a feeling this will be the first of many Andy Samberg cult classics. It was goofy and silly, but there were quite a few scenes that had me bustin' a gut. D and I are already quoting it. Yes, we're sad that way. ;)
Shoot 'Em Up - Perfectly entitled, this movie was all about shooting guns...lots of them and all the time. There's barely a story, but you don't really watch these kinds of movie for the intricacies of the plot. But the creativity in some of the action sequences blew me away. Clive Owen was flawless. I'm finding him more and more intriguing with every movie of his that I watch.
