An End to Withdrawal
The internetz have arrived! I switched to OCN from Yahoo BB so I didn't have to go without internet access for three weeks this time. I think it was definitely a good choice. I've pretty much been busy trying to unpack and somehow manage to fit two floors worth of stuff into a tiny one room apartment. I think I've done a pretty good job, although the amount of stuff I've thrown away is kind of staggering. I only have two more bags to go and I will be completely unpacked!
I've also had a lot to do this week since I'm going home for my sister's wedding on Saturday. I'll only be home for a week so it's going to be a very fast trip. I had a hard time getting the days off to begin with, but I haven't been given any pressure about the swine flu thing yet. I know some Japanese companies are making people who travel abroad take a week off after they come back to make sure they're not sick. I kind of wish that was the case with me, but sadly my school has a serious lack of subs!
I've also been doing some job searching lately which is kind of fun. It's only when I get to the interview phase when I start freaking out! I'm looking for a teaching job at an international school that starts in September so I have a little bit more time before the panic sets in. XD
In fandom news - I desperately want to see the new Star Trek movie!! Star Trek was my first fandom, discovered when I was only twelve so I'm pretty invested in it. It doesn't open in Japan until the end of May so I've been kind of screwed in regards to spoilers. I have a bit of a self-control problem when it comes to spoilers anyway (as most people know), so it's been difficult. Spoilers are everywhere! I think I may be spoiled for almost every major plot point already, but maybe some of the minor stuff will be a surprise. I'm definitely seeing it when I'm home! Only one more torturous week to go!
And this week's ep of Hetalia is in Japanese! Words cannot express how happy I was that it was not in horrible Engrish!! I give them credit for trying, but please not on that story arc!
