My doorstep was just your temporary stop
A train whistle and there was smoke
and a black outline barely visible behind
a screen that only left a smoker's cough
and a last goodbye, stamped with wax
When you said jump I never asked how high
I just jumped the highest I could and
failed to scale some invisible wall you put up
It was all in your head
Why do I still smile when I talk to you?
