1) If making a dish that isn't desserty, what one spice/seasoning ingredient [aside from salt or pepper] do you always want to reach for, even if you don't necessarily use it? Are there any spices you DON'T like? - Oregano and garlic! 2) Do you have specialties? If so, what are they? Spaghetti/Lasagna 3) If you had to eat one dish once a day, every day, for the rest of your life, what would it be? Pizza probably. I can't get tired of homemade. 4) Do you read any food blogs? occasionally bakerella. Does cakewrecks count? XD 5) What have you made that you're the proudest of? My sisters wedding cake. 6) Do you like to cook for other people? If so, do you have a particular "crowd pleaser" you like to bring out? Cook? No. Bake? yes. I've "catered a few of my friend's parties with desserts. Cooking puts me in a panic though. I'm not as good at it. 7) Have you ever had a culinary disaster or has hilarity ever ensued while you were in the kitchen? Because I'm always determined to try new recipes, ALL THE DAMN TIME. Two notables are my mom's Mother's day Cake(although I actually cried with that one), and test two of my sisters wedding cake, but it was my first time trying gluten free stuff. 8) And lastly: do you have any awesome vegetarian OR vegan recipes you think I'd like? (I like damn near anything, but if there are olives or cottage cheese, I'm out, man. I'm OUT.) Aside from Stir Fry? Not really. I'm not a creative cook.
The cake is regular chocolate and the cupcakes were gluten free chocolate cupcakes, with buttercream frosting
It's not awesome, but I'm proud of it because it was my first REAL attempt at making a cake. And I had to make it in another country in a kitchen I was completely unfamiliar with. I do wish I could do the design again and do it much better and cleaner this time, but at that point, my sister was still unsure, and kept changing her mind on things :P
