-- I think the Canadian dollar is around 90 cents US these days, so it'd probably be around 15USD for a day. You'd think that for all the amenities and facilities that the National Park offers people wouldn't mind paying the money. But that's probably the complaint I hear the most and the one people are the most snotty about. "Where can I go to a beach that's free? I don't want to pay money." There are about 300 other beaches on the island not in the park, go to one of those.
-- Technically our VIC is only about 7 minutes away from the beach so we get our fair share of shirt-free visitors. We have a small sign on our door that says 'Shirts Please', but I'm not sure how many notice it. But I have a double standard when it comes to this issue- I don't mind if the person in question is young and hot, but I don't like it when it's an old, wrinkly person. ;)
-- True, true, I suppose I should have addded another more neutral answer. For Islanders, Anne is overhyped- it's just a story and one that only appeals to a certain crowd- but it makes us money and brings the tourists in. And that's what really matters these days in our capitalist society, *g*. And then I've met some tourists who are crazily excited to see all the Anne attractions- especially our Japanese visitors.
