Poll Miki's OTP IV. UmiKami a.k.a "The Megane Couple"
Why "megane" (glasses)? Because Kamiki was 1st place in the poll: Teenage Actors/Actresses that Look Good with Glasses, while Kawashima Umika won the Megane Best Dresser award! Nevermind that these two are rarely seen with glasses on ^^;
Their first project together is the currently ongoing 2011 drama, "Koukousei Restaurant." There, Kamiki acts as the vice-president of the culinary club, Sakamoto Yusuke with Kawashima playing as Yonemoto Mai, his childhood friend, classmate (in real life too!) and secret admirer.
It's not much of a secret though ^^;
She's been blatantly showing her affections for him in more than one occasion. Whether or not Kamiki's character know about her feelings is still unsure. Hopefully, we'll find out in the upcoming episodes (we're still 3 episodes in!)
I personally think that these two have potential as an onscreen couple. Well, physically at least. As shown from these pictures, Kamiki and Kawashima... dare I say it, complement each other.
Let's be honest for a second..
If you haven't heard or noticed yourself, Kamiki is actually a feminine guy ^^; (some even say he's like an "okama" -> gay) Most times, when he's paired up with other girls (strong-willed gals like Narumi, Fukuda, Shida) it seemed like they're leading him and not the other way around. But with Kawashima.. now she's a very feminine girl. Her femininity is actually making him look manlier =O Well, it's just my hypothesis haha
Hopefully, they'll get to work again on another drama or movie (^-^)b
Maybe this time, they'll get to wear glasses xD
V. KamiRaba a.k.a "The Adorable Couple"
I think it's safe to call Sakuraba Nanami as Kamiki's ultimate dubbing partner noh? This duo was really on the roll last year! First they worked on the 2009 film, "Summer Wars." A story about a timid eleventh-grade math genius, Koiso Kenji (Kamiki) who was asked to pretend to be his sempai's (& crush!) fiancee, a twelve-grade student named Shinohara Natsuki (Nanami).
Funny how Sakuraba is actually Kamiki's sempai in real life. Well, in terms of age since she's two years older than him ^^ One thing I've noticed about these two? They sure look adorable in yukatas =P haha
Their second project was the 2010 game, "Zac and Ombra: The Phantom Amusement Park." Kamiki lent his voice to a magician named Zac, while Sakuraba voiced the heroine, Polly.
Off-screen? Kamiki does what he do best: making his co-stars laugh haha
Dorky Kamiki is dorky ;)
I don't really have much to say about this pairing since.. well, they didn't really have any special moments off-screen ^^; Even in the interviews, Sakuraba doesn't understand Kamiki's way of speaking? Or rather, what he's trying to convey. She seems lost around him (ex. Kamiki's train otaku-ness). This is only my opinion/observation tho!
What do you guys think? Please feel free to prove me wrong! =)
Also, the reason why Sakuraba isn't on the video is because I wasn't sure if I should add her on this post or not.. By the time I finished the video, people have convinced me to add her in ^^; Sorry about that..
Sakuraba Nanami fans, I mean no harm >.<
VI. KamiNaru a.k.a "The Classic Couple"
Classic because Narumi Riko was technically the first girl to be paired up romantically with Kamiki ^^
They were first seen acting together in the 2002 drama, "Wedding Planner." But as you can probably guess, theirs was just a minor story since chibi!riko and chibi!miki were only a part of the supporting cast.
But lo and behold!! They were given a chance to work together again in a 2007 SP, "Ruri no Shima." And this time, as the two main characters: Fujisawa Ruri (Narumi) and Miyahara Shion (Kamiki).
Though five years has passed since "Wedding Planner," KamiNaru still retain their chemistry on-screen =D
They did such a fine job acting as each other's first love, which is why I recommend you all to watch it if you haven't done so yet!
"Ruri no Shima" is, by far, Kamiki's most romantic work yet. There were a lot of meaningful gazes, handholding, cliff diving and heart-to-heart talks on land AND sea =P haha so don't miss out!
See how adorkable they are? xD
Random Trivia: Did you know Narumi Riko goes to the same school as Kamiki? She's his sempai at Horikoshi Gakuen!
VII. KamiShi a.k.a "The Bickering Couple"
Sigh.. where do I even start with these two?
The 2006 SP of "Tantei Gakuen Q" was their first project together. Kamiki played as the main character, Kyuu, a boy with great deduction skills; while Shida Mirai acted as Megu, a girl with photographic memory. Both of them are a part of a team consisting of genius students all aspiring to be detectives in an academy run by a famous detective.
They then reprised their roles in the 2007 drama of "Tantei Gakuen Q." Bringing along more cute moments such as those above ^ (To be honest, they had so many moments together that I got confused as to which ones to post ^^; I can't post all of them here. That would be unfair with the other pairings! haha)
Now the reason why I didn't divulge more into their projects is because their off-screen relationship is even more interesting than their on-screen ones! These two are very open about their friendship >.< On numerous interviews, they've talked about doing summer homework together, hand-wrestling-- which Kamiki always loses, and basically talking to each other everyday. No, I am not making this up ^^; In fact, they're such close friends that they're not afraid to speak their minds to each other... which often leads to them bickering haha
Apparently, these two bicker about the pettiest thing, arguments such as "Why is the elephant's trunk so long?" (which lead to "Why is the giraffe's neck so long?") and Kamiki leaving his uncapped drink in Shida's desk. Oh, have I not mentioned it already? They've been in the same class since first year xD (along with Kamiki's other co-stars: Ohgo Suzuka and Kawashima Umika)
But wait, there's more! This duo doesn't just do dramas and SPs, but dubbing as well! The 2010 animated Ghibli film, "The Borrower Arrietty" marked their third project together. Kamiki voiced Sho, a sick boy who came to stay in the house his mother lived in as a child, while Shida voiced the 10 cm tall heroine, Arrietty.
As always, Shida talked about how kind Kamiki is (She had no prior dubbing experience, so Kamiki helped her out a bit). It seems Kamiki became even more of a "dandy" -> mature man (^-^)b
Random Trivia: "Miki" is how Shida calls Kamiki (she gave him that nickname herself!) hmmm....
END
What you guys think? xD As always, comments are much appreciated!
