Hello friends!
I haven't written here in a while so I thought I would say HIGH!
Life is pretty good, for the most part, though I am trying to suck the venom out of the bite from the lazy bug - the lack of exercise and vitamins seems to be catching up with me. Despite this affliction, I am getting more things done in my life than previous months so I am happy about that. Things are moving forward! Dreams are getting built! Plans are being made!
Biggest item on my plate, currently, is preparation for the coming weeks - a hail storm of trips and events! This weekend is free though so if any of you shifty fuckers want to hook it up give us a ring! I'm looking in the N&B, G&R, B&J, and E&S directions especially. E&S already took care of... G&R, and B all live together but doubt will actually crawl out of their hole to play (as they've been poked in their hole may a time for that very reason)... so I guess that leaves N&B... so hopefully my email makes it to them. ;P
Oh, I'm also doing some LIGHT moving this weekend so if anyone could help me with that it would be GREATLY appreciated! I will make it worth your while!
Next week is going to be a guantlet of "gettin' 'er dun" as all the i's are dotted and the t's crossed for flight out of DIA on the 28th. Damn, I think I have a birthday somewhere in there too - boo! It's all over, adolescence, I got the last perk of young life, cheaper insurance. Now, the only thing to look forward to is cheaper tickets for senior citizens. *sniff* So, yeah, not overly excited about that because Birthdays always seem to be a let down for people.
I leave on the 28th for a flight into LA/Orange County (no, the people I know there are not like the TV show) to visit my family (father's side) and visit with them as we celebrate my Grandmother's 90th Birthday! Wow. The saddest thing about this trip, seeing her, is that the reality of this being the very last time I will ever see her, ever, for the rest of my life, is all to real. I tear as I think about it and how much time has been wasted not getting to know the woman she is, the mother she became, the grandmother I know, and the person with ample amounts of life experience to share. I am planning to put together an interview if I can, a chance to ask some provacative questions about love and life while I'm there. I've charged one friend of mine with the task of coming up with questions (as I may miss some myself) though wonder if she has accomplished anything with it. I would ask the same of all those who are reading this... come up with a question or two that you would want to ask a tribal elder before they passed on. Your help and insight into this would be greatly appreciated and I will reward your actions appropriately.
From there, I plan to travel north to Sacramento, though how still remains hidden at this time. I've been put in touch with a DJ/promoter in the LA area that could help me out but I haven't talked to him yet. Yes, I know, I procrastinate too much. =P I plan to before the weekend is out. I might get a ride from my father, though I doubt he will be very keen on driving me all the way up to Sacramento and then back (by himself) just so I can have a good time with friends. He may not even have the ability/time to do so because of his other obligations like work. Renting a car may be the reality of the situation but I want to exhaust all my possibilities before having to spend that money. As more money spend on travel expenses means less money spent on entertainment.
Once in Sacramento, I plan to visit with old friends and maybe even some peeps from out here. Stay with various friends and couch surf for a couple of days, partying it up at night, reading and catching up on personal stuff during the day. Should be fairly easy as most my paperwork is in one folder, the palm, or the jump drive and is easily transported by the all encompassing, all powerful, all red? MURSE! Behold the awesome spectacle that is the MURSE! LoL - anyway. Visit with Mike P, and Chris K, and Jesse, and all those crazy kids - maybe play a gig or two with Mike depending on his schedule.
Then, on the 3rd of June, its off and running, or rather driving (that would be a long run) up the BEAUTIFUL Sierra mountains to Northern California and MOUNT SHASTA - just south of the Oregon border. How I'm getting from Sacramento to Mt. Shasta still remains to be seen too, though I have some options and hopefully things will work ok. There, I'll be playing and partying it up with dj Jeffe (a cat I've been in contact with for 3+ years now and never met) who runs a yearly Burning Man style event (though much smaller) at the mystical and scientifically proven magnetic vortex of MOUNT SHASTA. lol. If you've heard Rachel talk about Apogaea, its likely something very similar, though admittedly I have been to neither. You can check out the website if you'd like, its pretty cool!
http://www.shastagathering.com/ Lauren could be coming along for this portion of the trip but we aren't sure if flight arrangements are going to work out and allow for her to be in Sacramento in time to leave for Mt. Shasta, but we're hoping so send out some positive love!
Then back to Denver on the 6th - could probably use a ride from the airport - hint, hint. ;)
On June 9th, I'll be playing at Kazmos with deejay Evenflo. CidKid / Evenflo Tag Trans. Team Dual of Mrs. Mia Wallace & Vincint Vega respectively. I need a black bob wig if anyone knows of anyone who has one. =P
On June 11th I'm playing a campout party - I believe the 411 for that is on the boards.
Hit me up people if you want to hang out - you know how.
