JFC IT MADE ME SO ANGRY. The fact that everyone BLATANTLY DISREGARDED the paperwork Izzie drew up while she was entirely competent to make the decision regarding her own body, and their disregard was presented as somehow noble and heroic = RAAAAAAAGE.
UGH EXACTLY. LOL ANGIEST ER NURSE'S DAUGHTER. Basically I do not remember a time when I do not recall knowing what a DNR was and argh so angry-making. Plus the entire first half revolved around Izzie deciding NOT to have surgery to begin with, and culminated in Alex screaming at her and telling her that if she didn't get the surgery he'd sign the orders saying that she'd have it anyway, and basically it made me so angry that the final message of Izzie's death seemed to be "womenfolk do not know how to make decisions regarding their health". >:(
Further, there was not nearly enough JDM, so that's another complaint I have to register.
Izzie and Bailey are still my favorites beyond all favorite. (And any kind of afterlife with JDM is much more appealing than being married to Alex Karev. I've always been a Denny/Izzie 'shipper and still am to this very day.)
asfkjasf. I don't want her to die, obvs, but the violation of the DNR did bother me a lot.

Ugh, basically, and it was made so much creepier by the bit where Alex bullies her into getting the surgery, because the final message seems to be that the silly womenfolk should not be allowed to make decisions regarding their own bodies. I have so many complaints to register, starting with the violation of Izzie's DNR and continuing onto "NEEDS MOAR JEFFREY DEAN MORGAN".
Like, if it were me, the twist would be that they succeed in her back, and then KH gets written out when Izzie quits the hospital, leaves Alex's ass, and proceeds to sue all their asses into the ground for violating her DNR. And the bit with the flash cards would've had an Izzie's-eye-view where it goes from scottie-dog, 747, mansion on the cards to JDM, JDM, JDM.
Basically what I am saying is that I feel I should be given the reins of a medical drama, because it would be hi-fucking-larious.
Exactly, and it wasn't just Izzie. Meredith and Cristina didn't want her to have the surgery, either, but they were just written off as treating her like their friend and not like a patient. Meanwhile, Derek and Alex were all, "HAVE THE SURGERYYY, YOUR BRAIN IS NOT IN A PLACE TO MAKE SMRT DEECISHUNS."
I think we should oust Shonda and install you in her place.
