As I told AlenH, my lender and I are trying to see if a consolidation loan is our answer and so far, no, at least not through BECU, my credit union as they could only do 60 month I think it is, 8.25% and the payments would be $119/Mo, or up my line of credit and then pay that off and it'd be $109/Mo since the interest rate on that is 2.0% or something like that.
Still too much since we are trying to make ONE payment of no more than $90/Mo. So my thought was, why not with USAA? They did a great job refinancing my car loan from Chase Bank when they droped my payments in half. I essentially went from 16.25%, 48 Mo loan and 137.36/Mo payments to an 84 month loan, 8.25%, and $88 and change per month. That was a significant help at the time, so based on that, if they can, I might get something like that again with a consolodation loan, especially since my renter's insurance and car insurance is also through USAA.
As a military entity and I a member only because my late father was a member for years and thus dependents are eligible for life and thus they often can't be beat by any other similar company, car insurance, etc included as they often have great rates, and even have a bank arm as well for loans etc.
So I left an email last evening to my lender to see if she's agreable to that idea, and if so, I'll give USAA a call today, or try to anyway.
Once we find a solution, I can then safely look in the 160-175K range for a home and know that I won't have to back out if we can't get a solution in time and thus my sibs can be off the hook entirely, other than the occasional bit of assistance during this time as needed.
Today, I just juggled the funds around so I can pay the rent and hope it is done correctly, and leave me with a bit in my account until next week when I get paid.
So outside of that, not much else going on at this time. Still no power supply kit from Sweden, though I suspect it'll be here today or tomorrow as it's a replacement power supply, along with a fresh length of shielded 2 conductor cabling to redo the output RCA's in the preamp itself and the phono preamp is sitting inert with dead batteries and hope I can get the PSU quickly and thus can get it built and operational, assuming the wall wart is OK after all or I'll contact Jameco and see if they can RMA it.
Next is cobble lunch together and get myself out the door to work on yet another wet day, and it'll be like this for the next week as well, though temps are now back into the low to maybe mid 50's.
