Changes blowing in the wind
That is, I found out as I went down to do my laundry that we now have new washers and dryers! Yes! Happily, the ONE change didn't occur, the price, it's the same, $1.75 per wash and dry so there is that. The old dryers were super good, but were getting on in years, and I also think we changed vendors to perhaps?
Awoke around 6:20 or so, thinking nothing of it, until I booted up the computer and then sat down. Daylight savings time, D'oh! I knew it was Sunday, but didn't catch that it was at 2AM Sunday morning, meaning change the damn clocks ahead before I went to bed, ooops.
Oh well, laundry is washing, I'll go down and see where I'm at with the new washer, and then into the dryers. The washers are Speed Queens, the dryers are commercial Maytags, top loader washers, though without the water level option so I guess it senses how much gets put in, and adjusts accordingly? Anyway, got going on that as I HAD a date. The bugger at least chimed in via Bear411 and canceled by saying something had come up, being so vague about it. I was NOT surprised and figured he would bail, but not even attempt to try to let me know. He's flaked on me before so there is that to deal with, and actually I'm fine with that, I've got stuff here to do and will catch up as I did literally squat once I got the credit card stuff dealt with yesterday morning. I still need to borrow money from savings to get by for the week while my CC is out of commission for about 10 days until the new one arrives - and hopefully been reimbursed the funds by then as well.
Overall, a lovely day out there, 63 is the high for the day and I WAS going to go, and may still do so buy some shoes as I'm desperate for a pair. The ones I'm wearing now are badly worn out, but the best of the ones I have for work and all that and is kind of unsafe when wet as there is not much tread left on them AT ALL. I'm still surprised they haven begun to seperate on me, though I DO have a split in a piece of leather near the toe box on the side on one shoe. I have a pair of Rockports that while the uppers look fine (all leather), the soul is shredding in places, and the Merrils I got from my younger sister and her husband through their daughter whom works at REI never did do right, especially with that right shoe as my foot, kept trying to do sideways in the show, causing undue pressure on the two littlest toes until they got blistered and hurt, making walking painful etc. Thus had to go back to the old and the worn. Can't do it any longer. My feet are letting me know (feeling tired and such).
I also need to clean and pick up the joint and that means put the side back on the computer and do a back up of the hard drive as it seems to be stable now (thankfully), and look for homes and finish writing a post to update the ol' blog, so with that, gotta go check the laundry and transfer to the dryer if done.
