A slight change in plans
Read this morning on Apartment Therapy that IKEA is discontinuing the Expidit bookcase, and why is they have lightened it up with thinner sides, and ever so slightly rounded off the corners, but sadly, they seem to have discontinued the 5x5 size though, which is the largest size they make.
People are up in arms over this, but when you look at the new Kallax that replaces the Expidit, they look virtually identical, and the interior divisions looks the same, and are of the same size 13.5" per section, perfect for storing vinyl, and there are lots of vinyl collectors out there that buy these shelves to store their ever expanding collection.
I want to go grab a 2x2 version today while I can as they are on clearance until sold out as the new bookcase arrives in April.
This way, I have it to extend my current 2x4 bookcase when the time comes, and keep the continuity the same, at least there. When I need to get more, the Kallax will suffice I'm sure, as long as I don't put them side by side though.
Then it's come back and work on job stuff, web site stuff etc.
I need to get some new info gathered before I respond to my BIL Rick over my being subsidized by my sibs due to my income/rent disparity since he's not discussed things since 2012 or so. Sadly, some things have not changes (treading water essentially) and have improved in other areas, a little, which takes a bit of the strain off, but still with my income being overwhelmed by my rent at the top of the month, the whole rent thing still has me concerned, along with being month to month with rising rents in Seattle, and all that too.
So next up, quickly wash dishes and then shower and make a quick run to IKEA and get back.
