Two trips to the store
Not intentionally but on the first try, got my can of tuna fish, a can of green beans got in line to use the self checkout and realized as I began to scan, I forgot my card case and change purse. Yes, So had to come back, retrieve them and then hoof it back to make my two purchases.
Dinner was leftovers mostly, tasty if you ask me.
So that shot a good chunk of my evening right there, so I washed dishes, virtually all of them too.
Then sat at the computer, trying to work on my opening statement, and not getting very far. I'll come up with something but what though?
even sat down at work and tried to work on it, but still got not far there either.
Had a good day at work yesterday and Ron tried to get me by taking 3 large flat rate priority boxes and simply taping them shut as a joke as the day before, they were returned for inadequate postage. I knew I had chosen priority, with certified as that was ow the box was setup, but what I failed to do was designate that it was a large flat rate box, which would have brought the price to I think 15.05 or so, then add the certified rate of $3 and change, it should've been over $18, per box. *sigh*.
Anyway, it took me a second to realize they were empty when I went to get one, noted no mailing address or anything, and then picked up the box, empty, I then threw the box at him in exasperation. He got a good laugh. So he had to tell Tony, our boss about it and all Tony could say was, you guys...
Anyway, that was yesterday. It was cloudy, but dry so that was good.
Decided that once I get my tax return, I'm going to break down (assuming I don't need other big expenses) and finally get new glasses. The ones I'm wearing now were out of date in 2008 when I got new glasses, but broke 2 years later, out of warranty and have not been able to get new ones so will rectify that as it's getting annoying to have to get out the magnifying glass to see small print.
So now that it's Friday, 1/1/13 already, I get paid today, but it all goes towards the rent, so I'll be monitoring my budget as best I can until the NEXT paycheck in 2 weeks, which means the 15th of March, and maybe by then I'll get my tax return around that time too.
I hope to get a lot accomplished over my vacation as I'll be too poor to do anything late next week on the job search front (portfolio etc) and hope to make some headway on that this weekend in fact.
And with that, it's time I stop and get lunch prepared so I can head off to work in a timely fashion. I got fortunate and was able to park right out in front of my building last night so that was nice. I get quite lucky in that regard in that I now rarely have to park far most days, a benefit of driving a smaller vehicle, I suppose.
