TOS K/S fic recs/requests

I've been giving a lot of thought lately to my favoritest favorite ever TOS fics, and since well, I don't read anything unless it has my OTP, this is what it is going to come down to. I wrestled valiantly with some of these, but in the end these are the five that I keep coming back to, over and over and over again. A lot of my flist has probably read these all a million times too. :D
Pacing the Cage, by Jenna Sinclair (an EPIC at 46,200 words)
The premise behind this fanfiction is ridiculous. It takes place in a reality in which the events of TMP never happened, and Spock and Kirk run around kind of trying to make each other jealous with new girlfriends while secretly unrequiting all over the place. When the big dramatic ~confession~ is about to happen at the climax of the story, it directly leads to Spock getting run over by a car. But wait, there's more! As he's recuperating, he feels the need to speed up the healing process at the risk of his own life so that the two of them can have sex faster. What the fuck.
It is probably my favorite fic ever. The title comes from a gorgeous extended metaphor for unrequited love, that makes me sigh; the pacing is fantastic; and the OFCs are brilliant. I've read it like six times and it still makes me squee every single reading even if a lot of times I skip over the sexytiems but hey. Actually, I love almost everything this author has ever written, my other favorites probably being the respectively hilarious "Shall We?" and "Down and out and under the Table" among many, many fantastic others. But this is classic K/S, bitches.
Rumour Has It, by Dana Marsh (about 12,600 words)
This one is just hilarious. It has just about all my favorite tropes, like "everyone knows we're doing it" coupled with "we're just pretending to do it because everyone knows we're doing it anyway" coupled with so much UST and unrequited lust love. The little plots to get the relationship that doesn't exist out in the air all leave you with this huge grin and the urge to be real patronizing and go "oh, BOYS."
The Force of Habit, by Anna Amuse (about 6000 words)
I love this author. The other day I read, of all things, a breakup fic that just about shattered my heart to tiny little pieces, and there's an undercurrent of very intense emotional pull to every single one that explores the darkness that we don't always get with this pairing but I think is well placed. This one in particular is more adorable than anything; it was probably one of the first I ever read when I first fell into this almost two years ago, and I kept finding it over and over again and reading it every time until I finally remembered which one it was. It follows the course of the latter half of the 5YM and how K/S can't stop "meeting like this", this being in ridiculous situations in which one has to save the other from some peril or another. I'm grinning just thinking about it.

Let's get this out of the way now--this is a PWP. Those of which I hardly ever read. But this one is legendary--it takes place in the mirror!verse literally just moments after "Mirror Mirror" and uses language so concise and funny to get the (lack of) story across that I can't help but search for it time and time again. (Hey, did you know E. M. Forster was gay?) This author hasn't disappointed me once yet.
De Profundis, by rhaegal (about 14,000 words)
This is the one that made me write an entry in my journal titled "DAMMIT JIM CHILL OUT GOD HE'S JUST MAKING COFFEE", which is how I found it again by checking the date and cross-referencing it with kirkspock. I'm very organized. >.>
It takes place directly post TMP and explores how just not hunky-dory K/S are right after, even after all those simple feelings and shit. The pacing is splendid and the characterizations even better--I always have a hard time with Kirk's in any fic, especially, but this one I felt was almost dead on. I like it also because it lines up with my line of personal canon--it's not a first time fic, because their relationship happened pre-Gol and even directly precipitated it, and there's a lot of eggshell walking and awkwardness until the conclusion we all desperately needed to see.
These do not even begin to scrape the surface on my favorite tropes--I am a total whore for post-fal-tor-pan angst, and voyeur!McCoy for instance. But these are my favorites. Now it's your turn! Can you lovely kids give me your five top TOS fics? I just wanna know. I don't care if they overlap with any of mine, or if they're even some of the published novels, or if they're even K/S. Maybe I'll find one I've forgotten about and loved, or even better, something fantastic and new. I haven't been reading that much new stuff (I've grown a bit weary of XI fandom, sadly) and I don't follow up on the comm's recs anymore. So if you could do me a favor, you'd certainly make my day. :D
