Ant update

'Cause I know you were all just dying to know what happened with the ants in my bedroom.

The pest dude came yesterday, declared that we have rover ants, and busted out the Terro traps. He warned us that thing would seem to get worse before they got better, and not to freak out if we had a steady stream of ants going to and from the bait trap for the next couple of days. Good thing he warned us, because, um. Wow. Those little suckers REALLY like the trap.

There is a steady enough stream of them that I can even identify where they're getting in. Contrary to what I thought, they are NOT slipping in through the window. There is a teensy weensy crack along the floor tiles, right where the tiling meets the wall. Once we're rid of the ants, I'll definitely be filling that in. But for now, the ants are having a gay old time with their new supply of delicious poison.

It's actually fairly entertaining, watching them go to and fro, occasionally stopping to rub up against each other before passing along. I feel a little bit bad about the fact that I'm helping them poison their whole family. But the ants have gotta go, one way or another. So that's that.

Most of the Terro-trap reviews say that the ants usually disappear a day or two after they initially swarm the trap. So, fingers are crossed.
