the first batch has completed its primary fermentation and I've siphoned it into some makeshift single-gallon carboys for conditioning. In about three weeks I'll siphon it (again) into bottles and send it to whoever wants some.
I tried a little bit of the unfinished batch myself, just out of curiosity. It's bitter and hoppy and quite boozy. I'm kinda drunk right now on one twelve-ounce glass.
The bit that I tried was also flat and malty-smelling, with a strong aftertaste...but that's to be expected from unfinished beer. It was also the color of apple cider, but it should clear up during conditioning. Altogether I'm happy with the results so far:
