My plant drowned.

I think I killed my plant by watering it. It's one of those air plants that don't need much water. Actually it survived for 1.5 months with me ever only sprinkling some water once. 2 days ago I decided to give it a shower of water and that's when it started to die. Bit by bit, it's hard green leaves withered into dry brown twigs.

If watering my plant is a sign of care, did my plant die from too much care? I googled.

Yes, air plants suffocate if it's leaves are entirely wet. It's like the water prevents it from breathing, especially if the water doesn't dry up fast enough. I guess it really didn't dry up fast enough even though the office is cold and dry.

My plant needed space but I pushed it to the limit. It needed air to live, but I drowned it what I thought was important to it.
