Muse. was. awesome.
That was such an amazing show. I still can't believe it. I just sit here reliving it over and over. Now I know why Britain voted them Best Live Act. Heck yeah. They had us eating out of the palms of their hands. When they ended with Take a Bow, Matthew could have commanded us to march and we would have done it. It was incredible. And I think he totally kicked Skwissgar's guitar-shredding ass. Oh yes. The whole show was amazing. It was everything I'd hoped for from them.
Moments I could have died happily:
Spotting Dominic hanging around the side stairs to the stage enjoying the opening band's act (did I mention I loved our seats?)
When Chris played those first dark notes of Hysteria on his bass
When Matt played the first few chords of Feeling Good on his white piano
When they played Sunburn, dedicating it to those who 'remembered' their first album
Watching Matthew channel Wagner while playing Butterflies & Hurricanes on his piano
Just getting to hear Matt sing in his falsetto in person!
When Dom had us get out our cellphones and wave them around like candles during Soldier's Poem
When Matt stood with his arms raised during Take a Bow, like he was conducting a fricking symphony
When Dom pounded his ass out on Take a Bow (because I always want to do the same)
And the enthusiasm of the crowd was incredible, and this was a 13,000 (?) seat show! I think last time Muse was here they only played to half that size. AND I cannot believe it, but this show and the San Fran show are the ONLY TWO SHOWS THEY ARE HEADLINING AT. The rest of their stay in the great and almighty United States, they will be OPENING FOR FUCKING MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE!!!! AAAAAAUGGHH!!! They sell out the Wembley Stadium in the UK, but here they are the OPENING ACT for those douches? *tears hair out in frustration* What is wrong with this country!?!?!?
My friends, the world of "Idiocracy" is closer than you think.
Arrrrghhhhh.....but anyways...still, it was fabulous. And I need to finish getting ready, not sitting here all day ranting and raving.
